My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

To know Roxy is to love Roxy! This medium sized Pittie mix puppy is joyfully exuberant. It’s no wonder when a gang of college girls found her as an emaciated stray they made her their special project. They took her to the vet, where she was incredibly popular and convinced one of the girls’ moms to foster her.

Roxy is such an enthusiastic gal she would do best with another playful dog. We think a low energy or elderly dog would find her a bit annoying, but we LOVE her spirit! She’d be fine as an only dog as long as her adopter has the time and energy for walks and playtime. Roxy would make an incredible running or hiking buddy!

Roxy is scheduled to be spayed December 9th and then she’ll be ready for her forever home, but we’re taking applications for this sweet girl now.

Additional adoption info

The adoption process involves several steps because we want to avoid returns, as they are stressful for both the adopter and the dog. Shelters are unable to screen applicants as thoroughly and can have return rates as high as 20%. We aim to keep our return rates below 5%.
