My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mozart is a 5-year-old pup with a heart full of feeling and a quiet, soulful presence. He arrived emaciated at just 35 pounds, but despite his rough start, he's gentle, affectionate, and clearly most comfortable around people.

While Mozart's name suggests a love for harmony, he's more of a solo artist when it comes to other dogs. In doggie playgroup, he seemed uneasy-often retreating to a chair for space and seeking out human companionship instead. Though he didn't engage much, he showed a bit more tolerance for calm female dogs, so he may do well with a gentle, easygoing companion in a low-key home.

Mozart shines when he's with his humans. He loves belly rubs, cuddles, and simply sitting by your side, offering his sweet, loving energy in the most endearing ways. He has a cute habit of sticking out his tongue when he's relaxed and happy-and yes, it's as charming as it sounds. He's also been known to munch on blankets from time to time, so a little supervision (and a few chew toys) go a long way!

Out on walks, Mozart doesn't pull and remains calm and non-reactive to his surroundings. He's still working on his leash manners and sometimes gets a bit mouthy or grabs at the leash when excited, but with consistent guidance, he's sure to keep improving. Energy-wise, Mozart falls in that "just right" category-medium to high energy. He enjoys running, exploring, and being active, but also knows how to wind down and be your laid-back lounge buddy.

Out of the puppy phase but far from being a senior, Mozart is in that sweet spot of maturity. He's looking for a peaceful, supportive home where he can continue building confidence, be adored for his sensitive soul, and be cherished for the loving, silly, and unique boy he is.

If you're interested in learning more about him, please reach out to our volunteer matchmakers at wcac.matchmaker@gmail.com with the subject line "Mozart 262610".

He is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and will be neutered prior to going home. If you have dogs or cats, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times.
