My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Suavecito was brought in by a community member on November 4, 2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Suavecito is a gentle boy whose name says it all - he's smooth, soft-hearted, and full of quiet charm. Although he can be a bit timid at first, once he feels safe his affectionate personality truly shines. As we've gotten to know him, we've learned that he walks nicely with a harness, will sit politely for treats, and absolutely loves scratches, often thanking you with sweet kisses. He also has a playful side and gets zoomies when he's feeling comfortable and happy. Suavecito recently had a mass removed from his leg, so his new family should plan to keep up with vet checkups to monitor his future care. With a calm environment and a little reassurance, Suavecito is sure to blossom into a wonderful companion! Come meet this handsome boy and let him melt your heart - one soft wag at a time!

At SDHS:
Suavecito has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Suavecito is now ready for his new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
