My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**I'M CURRENTLY IN FOSTER CARE, BUT I'M STILL AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! TO INQUIRE, PLEASE CONTACT THE ADOPTION CENTER. Email: adoptions@ivhsspca.org **

Approximate weight: 61 lbs.

Hi, I'm Nora! I really love people! I am eager to greet new people and feel comfortable with everyone I meet. I will sit beside you to offer my paw. I will gently nudge you with my head or my paw to let you know I'm enjoying getting petted. When I'm truly comfortable, I'll curl up next to you on the sofa. I'm ok around other dogs, but I really prefer people. I walk well on leash or harness, and I will slow down or wait if you ask me. I sure do love my walks and will go for miles! Of all the activities, going for walks is my favorite thing to do! I'm working on getting more comfortable being in a crate -- just be patient and let me work out the first few minutes until I settle in. I will sleep through the night in my crate, and I'm fine in the crate if I need to be in a different room from the humans. I love car rides! I'm mostly housetrained. In my foster home, I only had two accidents in my first days there. I'm good with kids. I know basic commands, including "sit" (with paw!) and "down". I enjoy chewing on Benebones, balls, or Kong-type durable chew toys. I get bursts of big energy and zoomies, so my foster family is working on helping me to switch to calm energy once in the house. They say I'm intelligent, very aware of my surroundings, and that I put my nose to work. I'd be perfect for an active person who enjoys adventure and cuddles.

More about this shelter

Established in 1949, the Inland Valley Humane Society & S.P.C.A. is a private, non-profit, full-access animal shelter dedicated to providing a safe refuge for animals in our community. Our mission to care for all animals is made possible by friends like you. Every day our dedicated staff ensures that every animal receives food, veterinary care and the attention they need until they can find a forever home. The Inland Valley Humane Society & SPCA is a private, 501c3 nonprofit organization and is supported by contributions, grants, bequests, proceeds from pet adoptions, pet licensing and fees for services.

With highly recognized investigative officers, IVHS answers the call of over 100 animals in need every day. With our community outreach programs we educate the public on local wildlife, proper pet care and how to be a responsible pet owner. Equally important is IVHS’s commitment to provide a mobile vaccination clinic, low-cost and no-cost spay and neuter programs for our communities.
