This helps Midwest Australian Shepherd Rescue with pet care costs.
Willy is fostered in Marion, WI.
Meet Willy. This little cutie is a blue merle male Mini American Shepherd. He is about a year and a half old and 16-18lbs. This little sweet boy is looking for his forever humans that understand that he is a little shy and timid, but very sweet and will take time to settle in and be a good boy BUT it will also be super rewarding to continue to watch his progress of learning how to dog.
Willy is part of a hoarding situation where we took several mini/toy aussies. Willy was one of the most shy and timid of the group BUT he has blossomed SO much in his foster home. Willy will need a special adopter who is willing to continue socializing him at his pace. He has made great strides already since arriving in rescue. Willy will need another confident and social resident dog in the home to take cues from. Willy gets along remarkably well with other dogs. He is even great with cats.
Willy is house and crate trained and does see his crate as a safe place. Willy will need a physically fenced yard. He does prefer a female caregiver but his foster home is working on slowly introducing him to men. We recommend a quieter home where there is not a lot of traffic or young kids. Other than being cute as can be, he also gives hugs!
Willy's must haves: a confident resident dog, a physically fenced yard, a patient adopter willing to help him blossom to be the bestest boy he can be.
Willy is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms. Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization. For more information on our adoption process or to complete an adoption application, please visit our website.
NOTE: All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in. Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application. We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family. MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives. www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org
