My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Willy is fostered in Marion, WI.

Willy is part of a hoarding situation where we took several mini/toy aussies.  Willy was the most shy and timid of the group.  Willy is a mini/toy Australian Shepherd estimated to be 1.5 years of age and approximately 15-18 pounds.

Willy will need a special adopter who is willing to continue socializing him at his pace.  He has made great strides already since arriving in rescue.  Willy will need another confident and socail dog in the home.  Willy gets along remarkably well with other dogs.  He is even great with cats.

Willy is crate trained and does see his crate as a safe place.  He is also house trained.  Willy will need a physically fenced yard.  He does prefer a female caregiver but his foster home  is working on slowly introducing him to men.  We recommend a quieter home where there is not a lot of traffic or young kids.  Other than being cute as can be, he also gives hugs!

Willy is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, microchipped and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms.  Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization.  For more information on our adoption process or to complete an adoption application, please visit our website.

NOTE:  All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in.  Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application.  We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.  MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org

Additional adoption info

Meeting any dog within MASR requires an approved adoption application on file. We process as quickly as possible via volunteers. Then connect an applicant one at a time with a dog and foster home to arrange a meet and greet. If all parties at the meet and greet, including the dog, are in agreement that it is a good fit, the dog goes home that day.
