Meet Tomas — Gentle, Trained, and Ready for His Forever Home!

Name: Tomas

Age: 4 years

Sex: Neutered Male

Neutered: Yes

Breed: Hound–Jindo Mix

Color: Brown/White

Weight: 23kg

Height (shoulder): 57cm

Rescue Story

Tomas was rescued from the euthanasia list at a city shelter in 2023.

He has stayed at a training centre where he received consistent basic training and socialization. He is now ready to transition into a loving forever home.

‍‍ Socialization with People

Tomas is extremely friendly and affectionate. He approaches both familiar and unfamiliar people, leans in for pets, and enjoys being touched.

He is not shy at all, follows people calmly, and has excellent manners thanks to his training. Although he is a larger dog, he has zero aggression and gets along wonderfully with children.

He loves attention, touch, and human interaction — a true gentle sweetheart.

Socialization with Dogs

Tomas is very dog-friendly.

He greets both familiar and unfamiliar dogs politely and invites them to play.

Even when other dogs get overly excited or bother him, he never reacts negatively.

He gets along with dogs of all sizes — small and large — and can thrive both as a solo dog or in a multi-dog home.

Cats

He has not been tested with cats yet, but a cat test can be arranged.

Energy Level

Moderate. He enjoys outdoor activities but relaxes calmly at home afterward.

Walking

Tomas has excellent leash manners thanks to his training.

• Does not pull

• Stops when the handler stops

• Follows well

• Walks confidently even in busy, unfamiliar areas

He is a truly easy, enjoyable walking companion.

Other Behaviors

• No food guarding toward people or dogs

• No separation anxiety

• Not vocal — rarely barks

• Can get in and out of the car on his own

• Prefers outdoor potty

• Calm in the crate

More about this rescue

Adopt Korean Rescue is a volunteer-based federally registered not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless and unwanted dogs in South Korea find a new home in Canada.

We love Korean dogs. Many of them live in chains, give birth on the side of the road, or wander around with their pups. Some of them get caught and end up at dog meat farms or high-kill shelters in South Korea. They luckily meet us just before euthanasia or after many years of living in dog meat farms. We exist to hold their paws and help them find a forever home in Canada full of joy and happiness.

Our dog rescue work depends on our flight volunteers. They help us safely bring our dogs from Korea to Vancouver or Toronto airports, where the dogs will find loving forever or foster homes.
