My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Jip! I am a handsome 4-5 year old white boxer boy with the most beautiful amber eyes! Prior to joining the rescue, it appears I had a rough life living outside on a chain as evident by a scar from my collar, having bite marks all over my body perhaps from other dogs attacking me, and concrete wear marks from laying in the concrete alot. I have fully adjusted to living inside of a home and am searching for my forever home! I am easy going and will do whatever the family is doing or chill on my own. I am young and get excited when meeting new people and will greet them with a 'hug' but I am working on that manner! I know basic commands, respond well to correction if playing too rough, doggy door trained, house trained, crate trained, and leash trained! I currently live with two kids (ages 11 and 13 years) and am great with them, but will try to take food from them that I've never seen before to see if I like it. I also do not know my size and may accidentally knock a child over so I would do best in a home with older kids. My ideal family would be one that will be very loving and not bothered by the constant need of affection or love because I love to hug, kiss, and show affection to anyone! I live with two middle aged dogs and over time once I learned that they wouldn't hurt me and were my friends, I was fine and no longer growled or snipped. After slow introductions and I see the dog won't hurt me, I am able to build trust and become friends! I am still learning to share toys so supervision is needed if other dogs and toys are present. I currently feed separately to help me know that I will get my own food. I love to ride in the car, go for walks, give hugs and kisses, lay on the couch and bed with the humans, toys, bones, play fetch with a tennis ball, and run zoomies in the backyard! If you think I would make a great fit for your family and are patient to continue helping me learn the good life and that I will be loved, contact the rescue today and give them my name because I am waiting to meet you!
