Meet Milk: Milk is a 5-month-old puppy rescued from the Redlands, a rural agricultural area in South Florida. Unfortunately, the Redlands is known for having a high number of stray and abandoned dogs, which makes it a region where many young dogs end up in need of rescue and care. Milk is one of these young dogs and is still adjusting to life at the shelter. Milk has a calm but very nervous demeanor and is particularly sensitive and terrified of the leash at this time. While he has made great progress, he needs a patient, understanding home that can respect his boundaries and help him build confidence. For now, we would not recommend him for households with small children. He would thrive with adopters who understand shy or sensitive dogs and can provide gentle guidance and reassurance. Milk does well with other dogs and may do best in a home with another confident canine companion to help guide him. As a young puppy, he is still learning, including house training, and will benefit from consistent routines, positive reinforcement, and slow, patient exposure to new experiences. With patience, love, and a calm environment, Milk has the potential to grow into a confident, happy, and affectionate companion.
