Kincaid’s Story: A Tale of Hope and Heart
Once upon a time, there was a dog named Kincaid — though he didn’t always have that name. Before he was “Kincaid,” he was just another soul wandering the streets, scared and alone. He didn’t understand why he’d been left behind, why the people he loved were gone, or how he was supposed to survive on his own.
The days were long, the nights were cold, and the world didn’t seem to have a place for him. He searched for food, for kindness, for someone to look past his tough exterior and see his gentle heart. But everywhere he went, people turned away. They saw a pit bull — and they saw “scary.” They didn’t see the loving, loyal boy behind those big, soulful eyes.
Still, Kincaid never gave up. Like the Buffalo Bills, he believed that even when things looked bleak, there was always a chance to turn it around.
One day, a kind man found him wandering and brought him to the shelter. Kincaid was relieved to finally be safe — but soon, he overheard the words that crushed his spirit: “No one wants him.” Days turned into weeks and nobody came for him.
Then, one heartbreaking day, he heard the shelter staff whisper, “It’s time… no one’s interested. He’s taking up space.” Kincaid lowered his head, his hope flickering — until a woman stepped forward.
She looked at him, really looked at him, and said, “I believe in you. You deserve a chance.” She named him Kincaid, after Dalton Kincaid of the Buffalo Bills — a player who always steps up when times get tough, who proves that determination and heart can change everything.
And just like that, Kincaid’s story took its turn.
Today, Kincaid is waiting for his forever home — one filled with warmth, laughter, and love. He’s a lover of people, life, and ear scratches. He’ll greet you with a wagging tail, a grateful heart, and the spirit of a team that never quits.
Kincaid is available for adoption now, ready to bring joy, hope, and unconditional love into your life. Because just like his namesake, when life gets tough, Kincaid steps up — and he’ll always be your loyal teammate.
Kincaid is currently working on potty training, knows sit and walks well on a leash.
If you are interested in Kincaid please apply at https://www.716paws.org/adopt or message the rescue on Facebook, if you're already approved.
