My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

* In foster care. 'Meet & Greet' appointments are available 7 days a week. Submit an online application and an adoption counselor will call you to confirm an appointment. *

Batman first joined the PZ family in 2022 as a tiny underage kitten rescued from a busy Bellflower intersection. He was lovingly raised in foster care and later adopted into a wonderful home. Life changed for his adopter, and although a backup guardian stepped in, their resident cat wasn’t willing to accept him. After careful effort, Batman returned to us through no fault of his own.

Batman is a handsome, affectionate young adult with striking features and an even more striking personality. Though a little shy at first, he warms up quickly and forms deep, meaningful bonds with his people. Once settled, he’s a social butterfly who loves attention, purrs easily, and often curls up nearby just to be close.

He’s mostly relaxed, but he absolutely has playful bursts—especially when it comes to spring toys or games of fetch. Yes, fetch! Batman proudly considers himself part dog. He also loves claiming bags, blankets, and perfectly placed cozy spots as his own.

Batman enjoys birdwatching from the window and soaking in fresh air through the screen. Loud noises can make him nervous, but his sweet, loving nature shines through in every interaction.

If you’re looking for a gentle, loyal, affectionate companion with a big heart and a little extra personality, Batman may be the hero your home is missing.

Adoption Fee: $125.00

Our adoption fee generally covers everything your new feline friend needs to start their journey with you:

*Spaying or Neutering: Ensuring the well-being of our cats and controlling the pet population.
*Microchipping: A permanent identification method to keep your furry friend safe.
*Vaccinations: Up-to-date vaccines tailored to the specific needs of each cat.
*Fecal Testing and Deworming: A comprehensive approach to intestinal health.
*Viral Testing (FeLV/FIV): Conducted on all adults and most kittens based on their origin.
*Comprehensive Blood Work: For many of our adult cats, ensuring their overall current health.

In addition to all standard treatments outlined above, many of our cats and kittens have received costly treatment for other maladies that result from abandonment or starting life on the streets.

Of course, if you would like to make a larger donation to help cover our care for the homeless cats, we would be delighted. All donations over the adoption fee are tax deductible.

Why Choose Peter Zippi?

At Peter Zippi Memorial Fund, we're not just about adoptions; we're about creating lifelong connections between our feline friends and loving families. Our Adoption Counselors are dedicated to making your adoption experience joyful and memorable.

*We often offer hard-to-place and special needs cats.*

At Peter Zippi, we believe that kittens under 5 months of age thrive best with a feline companion. To ensure their happiness and healthy development, we adopt kittens in pairs or to homes with an age-appropriate resident cat. Growing up with another cat helps kittens learn social skills, provides essential companionship, and encourages active play. We appreciate your understanding and support in giving our kittens the best start in life!

Thank you for considering adopting from Peter Zippi Memorial Fund, where every cat's journey to a forever home begins with support from the community.

More about this rescue

In memory of Peter Zippi, a young man dedicated to the care of animals, The Peter Zippi Memorial Fund For Animals was founded in 1977 by Dr. Alice Villalobos. We have adopted out over 14,000 pets (mostly cats) since then. The fund is run by wonderful volunteers who work tirelessly to help those who can't help themselves. The fund sponsors spay/neuter vouchers to qualified persons, and shelter for and adoptions of lost and homeless animals.
