George is the friendliest kitty with a truly unique meow - which he utilizes often to get our attention. The fluffy lovebug is playful & sweet as can be. George was dumped at a cat colony where he was beaten up, contracted an upper respiratory infection & lost weight. Once he was trapped for medical care they quickly realized he wasn't feral at all & after he was nursed back to health he came to our shelter. George tested positive for both FIV & feline leukemia so pending your vet's advice he may not be able to go to a home with other cats. But that's not all - he also has a heart condition which does not require medication but that does mean that the amount of time we have with the amazing guy is uncertain. What is certain is that every single day is an absolute blessing with George in our lives. George is microchipped, vaccinated & neutered - won't you share your home with this affectionate fellow for the rest of his days?
This kitty has tested positive for FIV, similar to HIV in people. It can not be transmitted through casual contact, sharing food, water, or a litter box. It can not be transmitted to people or other pet species. It is typically only transmitted to other cats via a deep bite wound. FIV positive cats can live long and healthy lives! They do tend to have more dental issues and absolutely must be kept safely indoors at all times.
