Aries didn’t have the easiest start (being abandoned in a park will do that), so she’s still learning that the world isn’t as scary as it once felt. But wow, is she blossoming. She’s housebroken, crate trained, walks nicely on leash in calmer environments, and—thanks to a road trip résumé that includes TX to MD and a multi-state camping adventure—she’s an elite little traveler.
Aries is the ultimate cuddle comet: she loves snuggling other dogs, sometimes a little too enthusiastically, and is learning that not every dog wants her sleeping directly on top of them. With cats? She shrugs. With people and new dogs? She warms up fast when she feels safe… but may give you the “stranger danger” side-eye for a minute first. Fair enough.
Inside the home, Aries is all about soft blankets, cozy sweaters, couch hangs, and routine. She’s smart, sensitive, food-motivated, and so ready to be part of a real family for the first time.
She’ll thrive in a calm, predictable home—suburban vibes preferred—with adults or dog-savvy older kids who understand that confidence takes time. Whether she joins an existing pack or flies solo, this sweet girl is absolutely ready to love big. She just needs her constellation of people to shine with.

The adoption fee is $350 and covers all expenses needed to prepare dogs like this one for their forever homes. By the time you meet them, they’ve already been spayed/neutered (if age-appropriate) and microchipped. They’ve been checked by a veterinarian and are up to date on necessary vaccinations, including Rabies and DHLPP. They have also been tested for heartworm and tick-borne diseases and have started heartworm and flea preventative medication. Some of our dogs have even undergone extensive medical care to ensure they’re ready for a happy, healthy life with you!

AARF only adopts pets to people in the Baltimore/DC metro region. In certain circumstances, we will consider homes in closer areas Pennsylvania, Delaware and Northern Virginia. This is due to the required home visit and long term ability to support the adoption. If you live outside of an hour radius of Baltimore, it is unlikely that your application will be approved.
Completion of the application form does not guarantee AARF will place one of our pets in your care. Many of our animals receive multiple applications, and we evaluate each applicant on fit for the specific animal (not first come first serve).
Completion of the application authorizes AARF to verify any information contained herein, including verification of medical records of any present or prior pets treated by the veterinarians listed.
