Meet Oreo Cheesecake, an 8-year-old gentleman with excellent taste in naps, snacks, and sunny windowsills. This handsome guy came to BARCS as a lost cat and has been settling into foster life like a total pro. He settled in his foster home within a couple hours and showed off his easygoing and charming personality!
Oreo Cheesecake loves to observe the world from a windowsill, take long naps on blankets or any comfy spot he can find, and enjoys some playful bursts throughout the day. Break out a string or wand toy and he`s in-but his true weakness is a Churu. He`ll do just about anything for a Churu and comes running when he realizes it`s treat time! Mealtime is his favorite event of the day, and he`ll let you know he`s excited with a chorus of happy meows while weaving around your legs in anticipation.
He enjoys being close to his people and will often follow you from room to room or settle right beside you on the couch, especially if he gets head and chin scratches. While he`s not a big lap cat, he`s very affectionate in his own gentle way. He`ll get to know your routine quickly and follow right along to keep you company.
Oreo Cheesecake has excellent litter box manners. He is FIV+, which simply means he has a compromised immune system-but many FIV+ cats live long, healthy, happy lives, especially as indoor-only cats. Because of this, he qualifies for an adoption package that waives his fee.
He has been wonderfully tolerant around a very energetic toddler, remaining calm and unbothered even when she got a bit close for comfort and loves the older kids he has met. While he hasn`t been tested with other pets yet, his mellow personality suggests he may do well with a thoughtful, slow introduction if needed.
If you`re looking for a sweet, laid-back companion who wants to be near you, loves a cozy routine, and will absolutely steal your heart (and your snacks), Oreo Cheesecake might be your perfect match. Please complete an application and email catfosters@barcs.org if you would like to meet him!

Step 2: Visit our shelter during adoption hours (Monday-Friday 2-6 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday 11 a.m.-4 p.m.). Step 4: When you have selected the right animal for you, our Adoptions Team will run your Adoption Application for approval. Once your application is approved, you will participate in an adoption class where you will learn all of the details about your new adopted family member, including their known history and medical records.
What else to expect: Animals who are already spayed/neutered and past their stray hold (if applicable) can often go home with you the same day. Pick-up arrangements for unaltered animals and/or animals still on a stray hold will be made during your adoption class.
**Please note: Animals listed on our adoption pages may still be on stray hold and pending reunion with their owners, or have an existing pending adoption application.
