What is Rehome?
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Nala is our 5-year-old fur baby, adopted at 6 months. She’s grown up with our other pets, but over the past year we’ve seen troubling aggresive behavior: at times she unexpectedly reacts negatively towards the cats and our other dog. It’s heartbreaking to watch her shift between her sweet nature and sudden aggression. She also growls/snarls at my kids’ friends and at my elderly father, though she has never bitten anyone. The aggression is sudden and quick. Never lasting more than a minute or two. Then she is back to normal.
With our children, Nala is gentle, loving, and snuggly. She walks well on a leash, enjoys relaxing on furniture, and loves spending time in our fenced yard, though she may bark excitedly and jump on adult visitors.
She has occasional ear infections and an occasional limp. Deciding to part with her is incredibly hard. She’s more than a pet—she’s family. Sadly, we can’t afford the training and support she needs to thrive, and we want the best possible future for her.
