Pewter is a 4-year-old, 50-pound gentleman with the kind of face that makes you want to smush his cheeks and tell him he’s doing a great job at life. He came to us after things did not quite work out with one of the other dogs in his previous home, but since arriving at Underdog, he has shown us what a friendly and polite guy he really is. We do not know every detail of his past, but what we do know is this: Pewter is ready for a fresh start and he is more than deserving of one.
Once you meet him, it is almost impossible not to fall in love. Pewter has a gentle spirit and a thoughtful way of watching the world that makes you feel like he is truly taking everything in. He has a signature little “joy jump” when he gets excited, and it is so cute you might have to stop yourself from squealing out loud. On the leash, he is a pleasure to walk, easygoing, curious, and happy just to be included.
Pewter is the kind of dog who will thrive in a calm, cozy home. He can absolutely handle adventure and would do fine with an active person, but deep down he seems like the type who would much rather hang out with his people, go for a stroll, and enjoy a slow afternoon together. He could be perfectly content as an only dog, or he could share his home with another gentle canine friend who respects his space and energy.
