Dog's Name: Pup Lenny (LEN1125ALAMD)
Estimated Breed: Aussie
Approximate Age: 6 months
Approximate Weight: 30 lbs
Currently Living at: Boarding
Adoption Fee: $500
DOG'S DESCRIPTION: Meet Pup Lenny! Lenny is a gorgeous young Aussie who’s ready to leave his tough beginnings behind and start fresh with a family who truly loves him. He found himself in an overcrowded Alabama shelter after being surrendered by a breeder who could not sell him — but his luck changed when rescuers stepped in to give him the chance he deserves. This beautiful boy is a bit on the shy side at first, but he absolutely shines around other dogs. True to his Aussie nature, Lenny is smart, energetic, and has that classic herding instinct — which means he may try to herd and nip at heels during play or running. Because of this, he would do best in a home with older children who understand herding-breed behaviors. Lenny would do best with a calm and patient owner who understands the benefits of using positive reinforcement. He loves to play with toys, chew sticks, jump, and play fetch in his foster mom's back yard! Lenny is at the perfect age for training and socialization, and with a patient adopter, he’ll blossom into the amazing companion he’s meant to be. Apply today and become the forever home this beautiful boy has been waiting for!
This sweet little lady, along with her siblings Watson and Thelma, was rescued from a crowded shelter in Alabama—a scary spot for a young pup. Thankfully, K-9 Lifesavers came to the rescue for this trio. Louise is now safe, sound, and ready for her next big adventure: finding her forever family!
Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.
Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.
Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.
