Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Dixie, a delightful bundle of fun and affection! This young lady has a heart as big as her playful spirit and is ready to take on the world with her new family. With a curious and adventurous mind, Dixie embraces life with open paws. She is an athletic and brave soul who loves exploring, but also has a gentle and loving side that will steal your heart. Dixie needs someone that know about Border Collies, because she has a lot of energy to burn. She needs a job to do but needs to be trained how to do it. Dixie is an independent and smart girl who can be both playful and quiet, always ready for a game or a good cuddle. She is a loyal companion and will be a protective and funny friend. She does get on long with some dogs, but not all because she wants to be by your side. With her friendly and gentle nature, Dixie is the perfect addition to a loving home. Could that be with you? Come and meet Dixie today and find out!

Additional adoption info
Our adoption process is quite simple. We have a 3 page form asking questions such as do you own/rent, do you have a fenced yard, references etc. We do require a $75 adoption fee at the time of adoption. This helps us partially cover the spay/neuter fees and any medical costs of the pet.

More about this shelter
We are a very small volunteer organization at The Searcy County Humane Society operating only on Private Donations and Proceeds from our small Thrift Store. We are now able to advertise our dogs online and hopefully will find them all "Fur ever Homes". We try to help as many as we can in Searcy County but can only do so much as we are a no kill shelter with limited space. We can currently house around 17 big dogs comfortably and we have a small area for puppies.
