Winnie turned 11 this month and we have had her since she was about 8 weeks old. At the time, my 16 and 18 year old and brought her home from the shelter...About a year and a half later my youngest was off to college and Winnie had decided she was my dog. While I have had dogs all my life, and was looking for a break in responsibility, she has been my most loyal and loving dog and has been nothing but a joy for me. She is a Chihuahua Whippet and she loves to be cuddled and hugged.
She has an only child complex and has not adapted well to grandchildren. She is a bit territorial over me and she does get jealous of the grandkids. She has been trained by ecollar and will walk off leash. Her ecollar just replaced which adoption fee covers. She is reactive to other dogs and at times to people if they are walking towards her or come into her space unexpectedly. This is why she needs to be re-homed. By biggest worry is that it will break both our hearts.
