My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

YOUR HOLIDAY WISH JUST CAME TRUE!
Meet Brownie, the 10-month-old fluff queen who is ready to turn your winter season into a warm, wag-filled wonderland!

This beautiful Collie / Shepherd / Pyrenees mix (aka: the perfect recipe for loyal, loving, and very smart) is about 45 lbs of joy, charm, and spunky puppy personality.

✨ Why You’ll Fall in Love With Brownie:
• Brilliant girl — already knows sit, down, and stay
• Crate trained (needs a sturdy airline-style crate)
• Rocking her potty training
• Loves other dogs — social, sweet, and playful
• Older kid friendly
• Mega active — hiking, running, adventures… she’s all in!
• Heart of gold — she wants to be with her people, always

Brownie is a little kangaroo at heart (hello, 6-ft fence!), but not because she wants to escape you — it’s because she wants to be closer to you. She’s loyal, connected, and absolutely thrives with humans who are home more often than not.

Yes, she’s enthusiastic about food, and yes, she’s learning her car-riding manners… but every bit of her is pure love and potential. With the right person or family, this girl will shine brighter than your holiday lights. ✨❤️

 Ideal Home:
• A yard with a secure 6-ft fence
• No apartments
• Another friendly dog would be a bonus
• Active humans
• Someone home a good chunk of the time
• Ready for a very sweet, very smart, very devoted companion

Brownie is officially available — and she is READY for her forever.
If your heart has been waiting for a sign… this is it.

More about this rescue

We are a 501c3 volunteer group of animal lovers and advocates. The efforts of Paws On The Ground started with an advocacy group to reduce puppy mill commerce which grew into a foster based rescue to help animals from high kill shelters as with taking in the unwanted, displaced and abandoned.
We help facilitate transport, vetting, and the adoption of our rescued canines into their adoptive homes. When an animal comes into rescue there are a team of volunteers working together to bring an animal into safety and eventually a better life.
We assist communities with overpopulation issues by awarding scholarships for spaying & neutering to prevent more unwanted litters to the individuals who need help and are surrendering animals to rescue. We help animals locally, from surrounding states and also over seas.
The animals are the clients and the center of Paws On The Ground..
