My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Are you ready to add some joy and love to your life? Meet Furgie, a bouncy boy with a heart full of affection and an endless supply of energy! Furgie is the perfect companion for an active family. He can be a little shy at first, so he'll appreciate a quiet home and a small circle of trusted besties. With treats and patience he is quick to open up and explore and play. Whether it's a game of fetch, a walk in the park, or snuggling on the couch, he's always up for some fun. His playful nature is sure to bring smiles and laughter to your home. Come meet him today - he's ready to start his next adventure with you! Furgie will only be placed in a home with children 10 or older and is recommended for a multi dog household with a like sized dog that enjoys play.

Furgie is a Golden Nugget! Sometimes the best things take time to find- he can't wait to dazzle you!

How to Adopt from Foothills Animal Shelter:
Visit the Shelter or one of our offsite adoption partner locations to find a pet. Once you’ve decided on an animal, you should check with staff to see the status and history of the animal. At this time, you can fill out an adoption application and visit with the animal.

We recommend you bring all family members to the Shelter to meet with the animal before you consider adopting. If you are interested in adopting a dog, bring any household dogs to the Shelter to determine if it is a good match. Also, if you rent your home, please bring the pet policy in your lease or rental agreement and contact information for your landlord.

Once your application is reviewed, you can pay the adoption fees and take your new pet home. It may take some time for your new pet to adjust to its new environment. If you have questions or concerns after adopting, please contact us at 303-278-7575.

More about this shelter

Foothills Animal Shelter, formerly known as Table Mountain Animal Center, is an open-admissions facility (never turning away an animal) and one of the largest animal shelters in the metro Denver area – taking in 9,000 animals each year. We are a true community resource that offers a broad variety of animal welfare programs and services. Low-cost spaying/neutering, vaccinations, microchipping and dog licensing are some of the services offered to the public.

The organization’s important mission: to provide the best care possible for every animal that enters our doors.

Community, Adopt, Reunite and Educate (C.A.R.E.) are the four key principles of Foothills Animal Shelter.
