My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Monarch!

SEE STRAYCATION UPDATES BELOW! HOUSE-TRAINED & CRATE-TRAINED!

This ten-month-old, 48-pound shepherd mix is ready to say so long to the kennel life and begin her story with a family that adores her!

Monarch spent a few days away from the kennel and we learned so much about her! House-trained and crate-trained, this girl aims to please. She loves hanging with other pups and is ready to play! Due to her energetic style, she'd do best with dogs her size. She is a fan of all sorts of toys so get ready to fill that toy bin! Curious and confident, Monarch does well on leash and also rides well in the car. She is ready to join you on all of your adventures!

When it comes to wiggling, Monarch can show you how it's done! She knows sit, is very food-motivated, and takes her treats gently. Of course she always makes time to snuggle too!

As she is still a young lady, she will benefit from continued training, daily exercise and lots of mental stimulation. Monarch is a very capable girl and will thrive in a home that meets her mental and physical needs. Commitment to training, and a fenced-in yard for her to enjoy is a must for this engaging gal. A home with a breed-savvy family would be ideal for our energetic girl! At the end of the day, she sleeps quietly through the night.

Based on our evaluation, we feel Monarch would do best in an active home with adults or families with kids ages eight and up. She may have the potential to live in a home with other animals of her size and we are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. No small animals please.

If you think Monarch could be girl you've been searching for, head to greatlakesdogrescue.com and submit your application for this eagerly enthusiastic pup!
