My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Peekaboo — better known as Boo — is not your average kitten. Yes, she’s visually striking, with distinctive, symmetrical orange-and-black tortoiseshell markings. But Boo’s real superpower is her personality: bold, brilliant, and unapologetically involved in everything you do.

“She wants to be where the people are” applies equally to Boo and the Little Mermaid. She is deeply people-oriented, thrives on interaction, and will absolutely want to be part of your daily routine. Because of this, Boo has higher-than-average enrichment needs and will do best with someone ready to think outside the traditional “cat” box. Trick training? Leashed walks? Cat shelf wall? Adventure buddy status? Boo is all in.

Boo is not the cat you adopt to quietly sit on your couch all day. She is here to participate. Actively. Enthusiastically. From investigating houseplants to auditing your sandwich, nothing is beyond her scope of interest. She can open zippers (we have receipts) and we strongly suspect lever doorknobs are next. Wicked smart and intensely curious, Boo is happiest when she’s mentally engaged and right in the middle of the action.

She would also love a home with other confident pets as playmates who can keep up with her wrestling, pouncing, and boundless energy, and give you the occasional break from being her sole source of entertainment. Boo plays hard, loves harder, and does everything at full volume.

Boo isn’t just a pet. She’s a co-pilot, a conversation starter, and a future collection of legendary stories. If you’re ready for a life that’s fuller, funnier, and a little more chaotic — are you ready for life of Boo-venture?

At Laramie Animal Welfare Society, the first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website www.laramieanimals.org. Once submitted, your application will be reviewed by our adoption team which typically takes 7+ days.  Keep in mind, the animal you’re interested in when applying may be adopted and no longer available by the time your application is approved. We do not place animals on hold.   Pending approval, your application is valid for 6 months. Also pending approval, you will receive contact information, so that you may inquire about the personalities of specific animals. Adoptions for individual animals will occur by private adoption appointment. Because we are 100% foster-based, appointments are scheduled pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules.  Should you want to proceed with the adoption, a brief appointment will occur at our adoption center to sign adoption paperwork, receive medical records, and pay the adoption fee.

**Dog/Puppy applications -  Because of the large volume of dog/puppy applications we are receiving these applications may take longer to process, please be patient. We do not do first come first serve but we place the dog/puppy in the best suited home. If you have questions about the Dog/Puppy process please email lawsdogprogram@gmail.com**
