My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Maple, a 4-month-old sweetheart with enough charm, playfulness, and cuddle power to warm an entire forest! This friendly little kitten is the perfect mix of silly and snuggly—your classic “zoomies at 3 PM, nap by 3:15” kind of girl. She spends her days doing all the things a proper baby cat should: chasing toys with fierce determination, practicing her tree-climbing skills (especially if there’s a Christmas tree involved), wrestling with her siblings, and then promptly collapsing into an adorable nap pile. It’s a busy schedule, but Maple handles it like a pro.

Maple currently lives in a lively foster home with her siblings, five resident cats, a 50-pound bulldog, and two humans who adore her. Thanks to this bustling household, she’s wonderfully well-socialized. She gets along beautifully with other cats, does great with friendly dogs, and is happy around kids ages five and up. Maple’s high kitten energy comes with a side of pure sweetness, making her equally excited for play sessions and cuddle time.

Her ideal home? One filled with love, playtime, and snuggly laps! Maple would be over the moon to be adopted with one of her siblings—after all, having a built-in wrestling buddy is every kitten’s dream. She will need to go to a home either with one of her siblings or to a family that already has another young, playful cat to keep her company. With the right feline friend and humans who enjoy interactive toys, goofy kitten antics, and a warm companion curled up beside them on the couch, Maple will absolutely thrive.

Maple is truly a gem—sweet, adorable, and absolutely ready to bring joy to her forever family.

If you’re looking for a playful, cuddly little maple syrup–sweet kitten, this girl is ready to brighten your world!

Additional adoption info

Pet Haven is a foster-based rescue. Our animals live with foster families until they are placed in permanent homes and their foster families get to know the dogs and cats learning important information about the animals. For example, the foster family will know if the dog or cat is good with other animals or children, and will have a good idea of what kind of training, attention, and special needs the pet may require. This makes our foster families great resources for potential adopters!

More about this rescue

Our Mission
Pet Haven improves the lives of pets and the people who love them by rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs and cats; reducing pet overpopulation by supporting spay and neuter efforts, and providing resources to people that help strengthen the human-animal bond.

Our Vision
A Minnesota where all pets live in safe, loving homes.

Our Values
Excellence in service and care; community; integrity; innovation; perseverance; compassion; a rewarding place to volunteer

How We Help
Spay/Neuter Initiative Program: Providing support to end pet overpopulation in Minnesota
Owner Surrender: Providing a safe haven for pet owners
Foster: Committed to finding forever homes for cats and dogs
Phoenix Fund for Special Needs: Providing veterinary care for animals in need of healing
What We Do
We help dogs and cats find homes with loving families through foster-based care. Every dog and cat lives with a foster family until they find their forever families. We provide all of their basic needs including proper food, veterinary care, behavior training, and supplies.

Through in-home fostering, we learn about each animal’s temperament, personality, likes/dislikes, and any medical needs. With this first-hand information, we can then find the right family for each dog and cat.

Our volunteers also educate the public on responsible companion animal care and represent respect for animals at all times. Whether we’re working with prospective new families, meeting people at public events, or socializing with friends and family, we encourage others to view and treat their pets as members of the family. We are their guardians, and they depend on us for companionship and care.

We spay/neuter prior to adoption.
We microchip all our Pet Haven Pets and remain as a secondary contact.
We make sure all pets are up to date on required vaccinations
We test for Heartworm and Lymes in all our dogs and are transparent in the results and treament
We test for FeLV/FIV and are transparent in the results. We believe that cats who test positive still deserve a chance at a quality home.
We do not euthanize animals unless they have untreatable health or behavioral conditions that deny them an acceptable quality of life or makes them a serious threat to people, other animals, or themselves.
How We Operate
We rely on adoption fees, tax-deductible donations, grants, and special events to keep our rescue operating. Our staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers have provided the passion and commitment to keep Pet Haven a safe haven for animals for almost 70 years.

We are committed to preventing pet homelessness through the SNIP Grant. Since 2005, we have granted more than $240,000 to organizations in Minnesota to support spay/neuter initiatives.
