Here's what the humans have to say about me:
*Luma is temporarily living in a foster home until they find their family. If you would like to meet Luma, we recommend scheduling an appointment with one of our Adoptions Specialists, so we can ensure they are here to meet you when you arrive. Please click “Adopt Luma” to complete an interest survey and one of our Adoptions Specialists will connect with you to set up an appointment!*
Luma is a stunning, gentle girl with a quiet presence and a playful heart—especially when other cats are involved. She may be shy with people at first, but with feline friends around, her personality really begins to shine.
Luma is very much a cat’s cat. She seeks out other cats for comfort, play, and snuggles, and their presence helps her feel safer and more confident in her environment. She communicates often with soft hums and little meows, especially with her feline companions, and enjoys interactive but quiet, low-key toys.
Right now, Luma is still fearful of direct human interaction and does not want to be pet. She relies heavily on hiding spaces, such as cat trees, scratchers, and cozy nooks, and having access to these is essential for her comfort. Loud noises or sudden movements can startle her, and without a safe place to retreat, she can become stressed.
That said, Luma is showing promising signs in foster. When she watches humans interacting kindly with other cats, she lingers nearby, curious and observant—suggesting she may be interested in affection once she feels secure. She is respectful, non-confrontational, and chooses to flee rather than hiss or swat if she feels unsure.
Luma would thrive in a patient, quiet home with another friendly, confident cat who can help show her that people are safe. With time, consistency, and understanding, she has the potential to continue building trust at her own pace.
If you believe in letting a cat bloom on her own timeline—and have the space and heart to offer her that chance—Luma may be the perfect addition to your home.
