Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Rocky – The Ultimate Survivor and Big Goofball!
Rocky is a true miracle boy who’s beaten the odds time and again. Last summer, he fell seriously ill with a rare fungal infection called Histoplasmosis, and no one was sure he’d pull through. Thanks to a dedicated shelter vet and an amazing foster from Friends, Rocky fought hard, slowly regained his strength, and rediscovered his zest for life.
Now, this big goofball loves daily walks where he chases squirrels, leaves—basically anything that moves! He does great with other dogs once off-leash, but on leash? Well, he sometimes barks a bit — his foster mom jokes he’s missing a brain cell! He’s also a huge cuddler who adores snuggling on laps and soaking up all the love.
If we could describe Rocky in one photo, it would be the first photo. Look at that goober!
While mostly calm and crate-trained, Rocky can get a little too excited around kids who play rough and might chase cats, so a home with calm older kids or no kids and no cats is best.
Rocky has some lasting lung damage from his illness, which means he might wheeze or cough when excited, but it doesn’t slow him down.
If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion with a heart full of resilience and a goofy streak, Rocky is ready to be your forever best friend. Could that be with you?
