My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cooper was a previous resident who we rescued from Inland Valley Humane Society and was returned after almost two years with his family. They said that he had become too much for their young toddlers and no longer wanted him.

Cooper knows basic commands, does well with other dogs his size, and would do best in a home with older children. Cooper walks well on a leash and would make a great companion.

More about this shelter

We are a no-kill, non-profit pet placement and adoption center located in Ontario, California.

We were established in 1954 as the Humane Society of Chaffey Community and it served as the local animal control for the surrounding areas. Roughly 40 years later, we adopted a no-kill policy as West End Shelter for Animals.

Sociable homeless cats and dogs are surrendered by owners who can no longer keep them for various reasons and they remain with us indefinitely until we find them a new home. The shelter can provide temporary homes for up to 200+ cats and dogs. In addition to working with pet owners, we rescue a number of cats and dogs from county shelters where they await euthanasia due to pet overpopulation.
