Meet Tessa! Tessa is a beautiful fawn-colored mixed breed pup who is about five years old and as sweet as pie. She was a little bit shy when she first came to the shelter, but her personality is starting to show up as she is getting used to the place and getting lots of attention from the volunteers. And attention is what she enjoys – Tessa loves everyone she meets and is generous with her smooches. In fact, she loves attention so much, she needs a bit of convincing when it’s time for her to go back into her kennel! She is selective about other dogs and has not yet been tested with cats. Tessa knows basic commands and walks well on a leash, although she will pull you a little while enthusiastically sniffing something interesting. She came to us a little underweight, but we are working on getting her a little less “ribby.” To meet Tessa is to love her – she has the “oh please adopt me and I’ll love you forever” look down pat.

Adoption fees: $275 for dogs; $100 for cats (discounts for adoption of pairs).

Our dogs are available to meet the public on the first through fourth Saturdays of each month at Carwen's Boarding, Grooming, and Training Center, 101 Buttermilk Hollow Road, North Huntingdon, PA, from 11 until 2. They can also be met by appointment by adopters whose applications have been approved.
