My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Walnut — the young cat with an old soul.
Walnut may only be 4 years old, but he carries himself with the calm wisdom of a cat who’s already seen a thing or two. His thoughtful eyes and folded-back ears give him a look of quiet contemplation — or maybe mild disappointment in your choices — but beneath that serious expression is a heart that’s nothing but tender.

Walnut is gentle, observant, and easy to love. He isn’t needy or dramatic; he prefers calm company, soft pets, and a cozy spot where he can keep an eye on his people. Once he decides you’re part of his circle, he leans into affection and shows just how sweet he truly is.

He’s the perfect match for someone who wants a mellow, steady young adult cat — one who won’t create chaos but will absolutely make your home feel fuller, warmer, and more complete.

If you’re ready for a quiet companion with big whiskers and an even bigger heart, Walnut is waiting at the Pauls Valley Animal Shelter. 🐾💛

More about this shelter

Pauls Valley Animal Welfare Society a 501c3 was formed to improve the problems of disease, overpopulation & abandonment of stray animals in Garvin County.
Our organization is made up of over 300 members who care about animals. It is an eclectic group varying in race, age, economic and professional levels and religious affiliations. We are, however, single-minded when confronting our community problems of animal cruelty and neglect, overpopulation and the humane treatment in which our strays and homeless dogs and cats are housed. Our goal is to relieve their suffering, do everything in our power to find them homes and provide a decent animal shelter for Garvin County.
