Meet Sara!
Sara is an adorable 18-month-old, 25-pound beagle with a big personality and an even bigger love for her people. She was surrendered due to her very high energy, and she will thrive in a home that can keep her engaged, active, and mentally stimulated. A securely fenced backyard and an active family are ideal for her.
She’s a champion cuddler who loves curling up against the backs of your knees at night and will happily snooze on your lap under a soft blanket—especially if she’s feeling a little shaky. She occasionally trembles for no obvious reason, but gentle snuggles, warmth, and reassurance help her relax quickly. She handles rain and storms well, and even if she trembles briefly, she settles fast.
Sara has plenty of playful energy. Fetch is her absolute favorite—she can keep the game going for ages—and she’s a strong chewer who especially enjoys rope toys and balls. Walks, toys, and active time with her people make her happiest.
She’s also very smart and eager to please. She has already mastered sit, stay, leave it, crate, car, and treat, and she’s currently working on heel. Training comes naturally to her with clear direction and positive reinforcement.
One of her funniest quirks is that she hates when you sing. She’ll get adorably agitated, but a cuddle afterward always wins her forgiveness.

We have an application and a contract that must be completed by potential adopters. We must obtain information to speak to your veterinarian for current animal records. If a new pet owner, we must have permission to speak to your employer. If neither are available, we are unable to adopt a pet to you.

Last Chance AR believes in advocating for the abused, abandoned, and neglected animals across the state that cannot speak for themselves. Last Chance AR travels statewide to urban and rural communities to provide comfort, safety, and love to animals in need. Hundreds of lives have been saved through our efforts, which include a spay and neuter program for impoverished pet owners, frequent visits to rescue animals from shelters suffering from a desperate lack of funding, and the complete inability for any of our patient and dedicated volunteers to turn down a creature in need.
