Hi, I’m Grafton — Big Brother Energy Included
I’m Grafton, the proud big brother of my trio, and yes… I absolutely act like it. I warm up to my person pretty quickly, and once I do, get ready for the purrs—I have a lot to say and I say it loudly. When I’m comfortable, I turn into a top-tier attention seeker and will happily remind you that it’s petting time.
I’m a big fan of cheek rubs, ear scratches, and full-body pets. I’m even cool with having my paws touched—no big deal for a confident guy like me. Toys? Oh, toys are LIFE. I’m especially obsessed with fetch (yes, fetch… like a dog). My current favorite fetching items are my spring toy and a ponytail holder—those are the VIPs.
I’ve already done some traveling up north, so car rides don’t bother me at all. I’m also a nature lover and will happily sit and watch bird and squirrel videos on YouTube like it’s my personal Netflix.
Full honesty moment: when I get overstimulated, I can get a little mouthy and may give a gentle bite. I don’t break skin, and my humans have been working on this with me since day one, but it’s something my future family should be aware of. Because of that, I’d do best in a home without young kids.
I do great with adults and older kids, and I’d prefer to live with just my siblings—or be your one-and-only. Other cats and dogs aren’t really my vibe, but people? Once you’re mine, I’m all in.
If you’re looking for a confident, playful, affectionate guy with big brother charm, elite fetch skills, and a love for YouTube wildlife… I might just be your perfect match.
Grafton would love to be adopted with one or both of his siblings, but if he is not able to, he would do best with another playful cat in the home.
Grafton is from a stray surrender with 2 siblings. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.

If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.
Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats’ emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of “Single Kitten Syndrome” (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten’s most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.
