My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Achilles! 🐾💙
Achilles is a 9-year-old male mixed breed weighing 36 lbs—and while he may technically be a senior, no one has told him. This spunky little guy is full of playful energy and joyful chaos, always ready to turn an ordinary moment into something that makes you smile.

Achilles lives for his walks and is absolutely obsessed with his toys. You’ll often find him proudly carrying one around or entertaining himself in ways that show off his big personality. He’s funny, spirited, and overflowing with love, making him a constant source of laughter and companionship.

Achilles is looking for a calm, adult-only home (no kids) where he can soak up all the attention and be his quirky, energetic self. He’s ready to bring fun, affection, and nonstop smiles to a forever home that appreciates his larger-than-life personality. 🐾💙

More about this shelter

The Gulf Coast Humane Society is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization dedicated to serving the animals and community of Southwest Florida. We receive no federal, state, or county funding, nor do we receive financial support from the Humane Society of the United States. Instead, our lifesaving work is made possible through the generosity of individual donations, grants, bequests, and community fundraising efforts.

As a no kill shelter, Gulf Coast Humane Society is committed to providing compassionate care for unwanted, neglected, and abandoned animals. We never euthanize due to space constraints or the length of time an animal has been in our care. Our mission is to give every animal the second chance they deserve in a safe and loving environment.
