My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Winnie has blossomed into a glamour-Pyr!  She is growing a luxurious coat of long, super soft, wavy hair that, together with her tendency to point, might indicate a hint of retriever in her background.  It is difficult to stop petting her!  Her soft dewy eyes and ginger eyelashes try to bend you to her will.  As she is just 2 years old and 75 pounds, she is still very playful and she likes the company and collection of stuffed toys to surround her. Watch out squirrels--here comes Winnie!  She is a fearless squirrel chasing machine, who can run like a thoroughbred and leap like a deer.  She is joy to watch.  Winnie enjoys having doggie companions to play with, but she also has her serious guardian side to keep you informed, especially if she is outside at night.  Her bark is a subdued “woo-woo.”  Inside, she is a cuddle bug, who would surely be a lap dog if she was smaller.  She appears to appreciate stomach rubs more than any dog in the world.  Winnie could be your shadow in the house.  She totally knows her name and usually comes at a run!  Winnie is gentle on the leash.  She is friendly to dogs, people, and leaves cats alone.  Winnie would likely thrive in a rural setting or large yard with a higher fence, where hotwire would help ensure she didn’t take her squirrel hunting abroad.  If you are interested in this special girl, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.  She is ready to go!

PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.com

More about this rescue

We are a group of dedicated rescue people who want to save as many dogs and cats from the local shelters before they are euthanized. On the average....there are only 1 out of 10 animals that get adopted from a shelter. We are dedicated to helping increase pet adoptions by offering a shelter animal a foster home to go to while awaiting an adoptive family to find them. Won't you please adopt a shelter animal? Or won't you please help us foster a shelter animal while we are looking for their perfect home? What a gift you can give a dog or cat by giving them a place to feel safe and secure....a forever home or a foster home. Won't you help us at Critter Companion Rescue give them a chance to have a life?
