Carmelita #19976: orange/white tabby, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 11/1/15
Cats: gets along well Dogs: unknown Children: teens+
BACKGROUND: When Carmelita’s elderly guardian needed to move into assisted living, the family found homes for the other resident cats but were unsuccessful with her and she was turned into a shelter. Carmelita did not do well in the shelter environment and was extremely stressed and not eating; when she was put on the euthanasia list, she transferred to The Rescue House where she was able to be in a foster home, which made all the difference. She is now doing very well and is ready to find a permanent loving home.
PERSONALITY: Carmelita needs some time to adjust to change and it took about a week in her foster home for her to understand that she was safe… and then she transformed into a sweet and social cat who loves attention! “Carmy” is very vocal about when she wants pets and will seek them from you. She also enjoys snuggles and you can spend lots of quality time together. While she is past the kitten crazies, Carmelita still likes it when you bring out a wand toy for her. She is a great companion kitty.
COMPATIBILITY: Carmelita gets along very well with the other cats in her foster home and is even patient with kittens. We think she’d like to have a feline friend though isn’t dependent on it so long as she has plenty of human companionship. We don’t know her thoughts on dogs. A quieter home without younger children would suit her best; we recommend teens and up.
Will Carmelita be your cherished companion?
