My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Canasta, the charming little lady from our card games litter! This almost-4-month-old houndy/labby super mutt is ready to stack the deck in your favor with her playful, sweet personality. She loves romping with other dogs, exploring new games, and sprinkling plenty of puppy kisses along the way.

Like any little pup, she’s still learning the basics—house manners, routines, and leash walking—but she’s already showing she’s eager to play her hand and be the best companion possible.

If you’re looking for a pup who will deal endless joy, snuggles, and laughs into your life, Canasta is ready to be your winning card.

More about this shelter

CCRF was founded in 2001 to help find permanent, loving homes for homeless dogs in our city. In just over seven years, CCRF has saved the lives of over 2,000 dogs, cats, kittens and puppies.

CCRF now assists the animals that are the MOST vulnerable in Midwest - the dogs and cats that are slated for euthanasia because they are too old, too young, injured, have disabilities, or have simply been overlooked for too long by potential adopters at other shelters.
