He can be a little uncertain at times, but with a confident, gentle leader by his side, this boy absolutely shines. Ruffles is incredibly affectionate and genuinely wants to please. He knows sit, walks well on leash, and takes treats with the softest, sweetest manners. He enjoys his walks and can get a little silly and playful, but afterward he loves nothing more than settling down right beside you to relax. He’s shown interest in other dogs, but he’d need a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone vibes.

All shelter locations are conducting animal viewing and adoptions on a first come, first serve basis. We are not able to move a pet from one location to another for your viewing.
The adoption fee is waived for all available pets in care and in foster homes. Standard adoption practices will still be in place, including background checks.

The City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department (AWD) expanded the shelter days of service to seven days a week with operational hours of 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and pet viewing from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m for both the east and west side shelter locations.
