Smokey girl came around from our neighborhood when raining to cover on our front porch. We put out some water/food for her when it was pretty hot this summer. She was pretty emaciated and looked pretty rough. One day, she became VERY vocal, meowing over and over again. We talked with her and she led us into our backyard, and low and behold, under our AC unit she had a little baby boy kitten, & Bear. She was very uneasy around people, but would let us come near and check on baby, we put our water, food and an outdoor shelter. After about 1 week we took both to the local ER Vet, Mama Smokey got vaccines, baby was checked out, even though very malnourished they would both be okay! We took them inside after the vet visit to get to know our other two cats (brother/sister from litter) whom they had been very curious about through the windows and our going in and out. We are now ready to try and rehome Smokey and Bear as they have rehabilitated well and ready for their next chapter!
