Meet Blue Bear! 🐻💙
Blue Bear is a handsome 3-year-old gray and white mixed breed who weighs in around 88 pounds of pure love. He came into our care as a stray, so we don’t have any information about his past — but we do know that this big softie has been nothing but sweet to everyone he’s met here.

Blue Bear has a friendly, lovable personality and enjoys meeting new people. He’s also met other dogs in our care and has done well with them, making him a great candidate for a home with another canine friend (with proper meets, of course!).

This boy is strong and enthusiastic, and while he knows “sit” and happily comes when called, he’ll benefit from some guidance on leash walking and polishing up his basic manners. Blue Bear is a great fit for adopters excited to continue his training using positive reinforcement — rewarding good behaviors, building trust, and helping him learn in a fun, encouraging way.

This may be done where the pet is located, please read Story it will list location or applications are on our website.

Owned a pet in the past, please list veterinarian pet went to.

Meet the Pet

Approved applicants will be asked to come to the shelter to meet the dog. (Cats/kittens are at other locations to visit)

Interested in a dog? Please fill out an application at our website, please list dogs name on application or if you don't see one, please list breed/gender you are looking for. (We can place you on a wish list) Once approved we will watch for a dog for you. When we get in animal that might be what you are looking for we will contact you to set up an appointment to meet the pet.

$60 Adoption fee for cats. $100 for kittens. $150 Adoption fee for dogs. $250 for puppies. All potential adopters must complete our Adoption Application.

** Most cats/kittens are located at PetSmart in Utica or PetSmart in Bloomfield Hills, unless noted **

Go meet their pets

Our adoptable cats are located at a PetSmart in Utica, PetSmart in Bloomfield Hills. You can visit them at the stores when they are open.

For Dogs we are asking people to fill out an application online to get approved. Applications can be found here: https://macsshelter.org/dog-application. We will schedule a meet and greet of the dog after application approval.

We do take our dogs to different pet stores in the Metro Detroit area on Saturday's. You can visit our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/macs1935) to see where our next dog adoption event will be located. These events start at 11 AM - 2:30 PM.
