My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Trapztation (A554625), but since you’re friends now, you can just call him Trap. This handsome boy has been with us for over a month, and honestly, we’re all scratching our heads wondering how he is still here. Trap is everything people claim they want in a dog: friendly, outgoing, affectionate, and overflowing with personality. He wins hearts faster than we can hand out treats, which is why he’s become a total staff favorite.
Trap recently joined a pack walk, and his volunteer could not stop raving about how awesome he did. Sweet, full of energy, eager to please, and just genuinely happy to be included. He’s the kind of dog who makes you feel like you’re his favorite person in the world every time you look at him. Trap is young, so a family willing to teach him the basics and help him fine tune his leash walking will help him shine even brighter. He has tested beautifully with female dogs and would absolutely thrive in a home with a playful canine buddy who can match his energy and keep him entertained. He hasn’t been tested with male dogs yet.
If you’re searching for a joyful, loving, loyal companion who will turn every day into a good one, Trap is your guy. Come meet him today and see why the whole shelter is rooting for this sweet boy to finally get his happy ending.
Trap is guesstimated to be 4 years old and weighs 50 lbs. All dogs adopted from Huntsville Animal Services are spayed/ neutered, microchipped, dewormed, appropriately vaccinated, and receive a topical 90-day flea/ tick preventative.
Ready to meet Trap? All you have to do is stop by our shelter at 4950 Triana Blvd and head to our dog areas. You can find him in kennel D24. All adopters must be 19 years or older with a valid ID

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

If you are interested in adopting an animal: 1) Write down the Animal ID # . 2) Make sure to mention Animal ID # when visiting or calling. 3) Remember all adoptions stop 30 minutes prior to closing time. 3) You will not be allowed to place a hold on the animal. 4) It cannot be shipped to you. 5) Before adopting it, you can spend time with the animal outside or in a "meet and greet" room. Please ask for assistance. 6) We take cash, checks, debit cards, VISA and Mastercard as a method of payment. **IMPORTANT: Huntsville Animal Services cannot guarantee that any animal will still be available for adoption as we do not hold animals for anyone under any circumstances. Animals are adopted on a first come, first serve basis. You may want to call and ask if one is still available prior to visiting the shelter. When you adopt a pet, it will stay at the shelter and be taken to the veterinarian of your choice where it will be spayed or neutered before going to its new home. If it is already spayed or neutered, it can go home with you upon adoption. My adoption cost is very affordable and includes my adoption fee, spay/neuter, vaccinations, deworming, license (if you live within Huntsville city limits), and microchip.
ADOPTION FEES
Cats seven months and older are currently $35 that includes spay or neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, microchip, city license tag if applicable, feline AIDS/LEUKEMIA test, and may also include other basic vaccinations when applicable. Kittens six months and younger are $50.

Dogs seven months and older are currently $35 and includes spay or neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, microchip, city license tag if applicable, canine heart worm test over six months of age, and may also include other basic vaccinations when applicable. Puppie six months and younger are $50. Prices are subject to change.

LICENSE FEES
$35 - Lifetime license not included in the adoption fee

Fees change if the animal comes into the shelter with proof of current rabies vaccination, current city license, and/or proof of spay/neuter. If the animal has been spayed or neutered there is no spay/neuter fee.
Adopting parties must have proof of identification. They must be 19 years of age or older. They must not be intoxicated. The adoption process takes approximately 30 minutes for the paperwork. Please allow ample time to look for the pet of your dreams, visit with it, and do all appropriate paperwork. We do not suggest adoptions for a gift. If you desire to give the gift of a new pet, bring that person with you and allow them to pick out their new family member.
