Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hero has lived a life that asked a lot of him, and he’s finally getting the chance to rest, heal, and trust again. At first, he may take a moment to read the room and be sure you’re safe… but once he knows you, he melts. Quiet purrs, slow blinks, and a deep appreciation for being loved — that’s Hero.
He still has his left eye, but it was severely ulcerated before rescue and he is blind on that side. Because the eye sits recessed, he will need a clean, indoor home to keep him healthy — and since leaving street life behind, he’s had no issues keeping it clean and comfortable. He just needed safety… and someone to care.
Hero’s favorite place in the world is his bed. He curls up, relaxes, and watches the world with a calmness that feels almost therapeutic. If you’re someone who values gentle companionship, quiet moments, and a cat who asks for very little but gives so much, Hero may be your perfect match.
He’s been a survivor long enough. Now he just needs a soft home, a safe corner, and someone who sees the incredible cat he truly is. 🖤🐾

More about this shelter
Pauls Valley Animal Welfare Society a 501c3 was formed to improve the problems of disease, overpopulation & abandonment of stray animals in Garvin County.
Our organization is made up of over 300 members who care about animals. It is an eclectic group varying in race, age, economic and professional levels and religious affiliations. We are, however, single-minded when confronting our community problems of animal cruelty and neglect, overpopulation and the humane treatment in which our strays and homeless dogs and cats are housed. Our goal is to relieve their suffering, do everything in our power to find them homes and provide a decent animal shelter for Garvin County.
