My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Adoption visits are by appointment only** If you see an animal you`re interested in, fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website https://everettwa.gov/161/Adopt-a-Pet

Meet Rosa, a resilient and gentle 60-pound sweetheart with a heart as big as her paws. This lovely girl was found alone in a rural area, bravely enduring injuries to her feet and untreated skin issues. Now on the mend, Rosa is showing just how strong and loving she truly is. She adores people and thrives on affection, always ready to lean in for a gentle pet or a kind word. While she’s tolerant of other dogs, Rosa tends to be more independent around them—she prefers to keep to herself rather than engage in rough-and-tumble play. Rosa is ready for a fresh start and a forever home where she can continue to heal and be cherished.

Additional adoption info

We've got awesome dogs, cats and other critters waiting for new families to come and adopt! The adoption process begins online, and all adoptions are done by appointment only. To reduce the animals' overall stress levels, we have decided to limit animal viewing to those people with appointments for specific animals.

How it works:

1. Check out our available animals online. If you see an animal you’re interested in, fill out that species adoption questionnaire at https://www.everettwa.gov/161/Adopt-a-Pet to start the adoption process. Please be sure to include the name of the animal that you are interested in adopting. Questionnaires will only be reviewed if a specific animal is identified. You aren't obligated to adopt that pet, but it's a place to start.

2. Our staff will review your questionnaire and contact you to discuss the adoption. Please note that it often takes several days before you are contacted. We appreciate your patience! (If it has been longer than one week and you haven’t heard from us, please email us.)

3. Most animals will be available to go home the same day as the adoption meeting.

Adoptions by Appointment
Our shelter is currently closed for general animal viewing, but we’ve still got awesome dogs, cats and other critters waiting for new families to come and adopt them. To help keep our staff, volunteers and community healthy, we are now providing adoptions by appointment. This enables us to comply with social distancing guidelines while still finding loving homes for the pets in our care.
