My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Gilbert, a gentle soul whose contentment comes through in the most unique way. When you pet him, his purrs sound like sweet singing; a charming result of old nasal scarring before coming to Team Cat Rescue. This endearing boy has mastered the art of being the perfect low-key companion: present, affectionate, and wonderfully easygoing. We know you will fall in love when you look into his big, expressive green eyes!

Gilbert loves nothing more than being in the presence of his people. He`ll happily spend his days nearby, watching you go about your day and soaking up some sweet talk and scratches on his nose, neck, or head. He starts purring the moment you pet him! Sometimes his purrs can tire him out, so this sweet boy also has an independent side. He’ll happily seek out his favorite plush, comfy cat-bed to recharge. But don`t let his mellow demeanor fool you — Gilbert absolutely loves to play! Whether it`s his beloved pickle toy, or anything involving catnip, playtime brings out his joyful side and is the perfect way to bond with this special boy. Gilbert takes daily medication for arthritis in his spine and elbow, which keeps him comfortable and mobile. Due to a recent dental extraction, Gilbert does best with pate-style wet food rather than chunky varieties, though he happily crunches dried kibble and goes absolutely wild for anything chicken-scented (so guard your dinner!). Gilbert has not been tested with children, dogs, or other cats.

Gilbert truly has so much personality. He would flourish in a calm household where he can observe daily life, enjoy regular play sessions, and receive gentle affection. If you`re looking for a companion who appreciates the quiet moments, offers the sweetest singing purrs, and brings gentle joy to everyday life, Gilbert might just be your perfect match.
