My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Samsoon

Name: Samsoon

Age: 4 months

Sex: Female

Spayed: Not yet

Breed: Jindo mix

Color: Brown

Weight: 5kg

Height (shoulder): 35cm

Her Rescue Story

Samsoon and her siblings were found inside a cardboard box near a ski resort, after their mother likely gave birth in the mountains and disappeared. They were transferred to a city shelter and have now been thriving in a loving foster home for the past month.

She’s healthy, safe, and ready for adoption!

‍‍ Social with People

Samsoon can be a little shy at first, but offer her a treat — and she warms up quickly!

She allows handling, enjoys belly rubs, and even shows her tummy to new people.

She hasn’t met young kids yet, but based on her gentle nature, she’s expected to do well.

She loves sleeping close to her humans — often with her head on the pillow or curled up by your feet.

She sometimes pees a little from excitement when greeting family, but this is improving with time.

Social with Dogs

Friendly, curious, and playful!

She approaches both familiar and new dogs politely and enjoys initiating play — especially with dogs similar in size.

With Cats

During walks, she may watch cats with curiosity but easily redirects and follows her handler.

Energy Level & Play

She has a puppy energy — joyful, enthusiastic, and loves zoomies when people are around.

When alone, she rests calmly without separation anxiety.

She’s teething and loves chew toys, squeakers, and fetch!

Walks

Curious nose-first explorer!

She may walk ahead or stop frequently to sniff, especially grassy areas — but follows when guided.

Other Notes

No food guarding toward people

May growl if another dog approaches her food (manageable & improving)

Rarely barks

Calm in a kennel/crate

Successful with both indoor pee pads & outdoor potty training

Ideal Adopter

A family who enjoys outdoor activities, positive reinforcement training, patience, and lots of love.

She will blossom beautifully with guidance and routine.

If you’re ready to welcome this sweet, affectionate girl into your life, please submit an adoption application!

More about this rescue

Adopt Korean Rescue is a volunteer-based federally registered not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless and unwanted dogs in South Korea find a new home in Canada.

We love Korean dogs. Many of them live in chains, give birth on the side of the road, or wander around with their pups. Some of them get caught and end up at dog meat farms or high-kill shelters in South Korea. They luckily meet us just before euthanasia or after many years of living in dog meat farms. We exist to hold their paws and help them find a forever home in Canada full of joy and happiness.

Our dog rescue work depends on our flight volunteers. They help us safely bring our dogs from Korea to Vancouver or Toronto airports, where the dogs will find loving forever or foster homes.
