Yubaba (or “bubs” as her foster likes to call her) is a beautiful, young catten that came to Trash Cat Rescue as a kitten. She was very ill and frightened after being pulled from an overcrowded shelter in North Carolina where she was at risk of euthanasia. Bubs has taken her time learning to trust humans, but she has accomplished understanding that people (especially with churu) are not as scary as they seem.
Bubs LOVES wet food and Churu. It is the fastest way to her heart. She is still learning that pets are actually nice. Bubs is quite skittish, so sometimes the act of reaching for her makes her panic a little bit. She does, however, lets her foster mom approach her and give her some head scratches. Bubs closes her eyes, relaxes, and enjoys the attention when she feels safe. With a lot patience and consistency, we think this gal will learn to enjoy attention, and that people reaching for her isn’t scary (but she would still appreciate the churu bribe!). Bubs is also learning how to play. She particularly likes wand toys, and it’s very cute watching her daintily batting at them. It’s a good way to provide positive interaction and exercise while also helping Bubs learn to interact with people at her own pace.
Yubaba will need a patient adopter who will give her plenty of time to trust her new human(s). Churu is a must during this time. We recommend that she stay in one room and bond with her new owners before giving her access to the rest of the home. She will need to be adopted either with another “trash cat” friend or to a home with an existing confident cat to show her the ropes. Yubaba adores other cats, and would make a great companion for another gentle, cuddly feline friend. Yubaba would likely do best in an adult-only home. She does not tolerate dogs (sorry canine friends).
Bubs is almost nine months old. She is spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, and has tested negative for FIV/FeLV. Please apply for her (and a friend?) today!

Typically we talk a little with potential adopters to find a cat who is a good fit before sharing the application.
2.

We check over the application including checking vet references and doing landlord checks.

Additional adoption info
We try to do our best to make sure we find good fitting, responsible homes, without wasting a lot of our time. Our app has a lot of screening questions which help eliminate potential adopters who might not be serious (they usually just don't return the app), or not a good fit, which is why the in depth interview happens once the app is returned.

We are a small but dedicated 501c3 nonprofit cat rescue specializing in making one person's garbage kitten another person's forever cat.
Our mission is to reduce feline suffering and overpopulation using a combination of TNR and adoptions. We foster and socialize whenever we have the resources to do so, including behavioral cats and kittens who might otherwise just be candidates for TNR.
