Charmin loves attention, and enjoys being picked up and snuggled! She loves playing with people, cats, and dogs. She and her sister are great climbers and jumpers, and they both love to explore, especially in couch cushions and pillows!
Cottonelle is a little shier than her sister, but she warms up once she feels comfortable (and you can speed up the process with some dedicated playtime and kitty treats!) She loves to explore, but doesn't like to go too far from you or her sister, otherwise she gets scared and cries for someone to rescue her. She loves getting pets and playing with wand toys, ping-pong balls, and string.

We have worked hard to make our adoption process as easy as possible. We like to think of the process in four steps: application, phone conversation, meet and greet and adoption day. We will get back to applicants within a few days even if they were not chosen.

All of our animals are in foster homes. To meet an animal please fill out our adoption application and we will get back to you to schedule a meet and greet if it seems it could be a good fit.

Paws and Claws Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the Chicagoland area dedicated to preventing, and alleviating the suffering caused by abuse, neglect, and overpopulation. We help dogs and cats mentally and physically heal, and give them a chance to find love, a full life, and a forever home.
Our focus is on rescuing orphaned neonatal kittens, nursing kittens with their feral mothers, under-socialized cats, and dogs who have been at Chicago Animal Care and Control for too long. We see ourselves as the crossing guards for these vulnerable animals, helping them get from their past, whether that be from a traumatic home, a kennel, or a euthanasia list, to a safe and kind human who will love them.
