Here's what the humans have to say about me:
This time of year, the shelter sees many sick and injured animals come through our doors—pups and kitties with upper respiratory infections, pneumonia, and even serious orthopedic injuries. If you’re looking for a meaningful gift this holiday season, please consider donating to the West Memphis Animal Shelter’s Veterinary Fund. Your generosity helps animals like me receive lifesaving care the moment we arrive.
When I first came in, I was in rough shape with pneumonia and bronchitis. I had a terrible cough, couldn’t smell my food, didn’t want to eat, and I was severely dehydrated. The staff didn’t waste a second—they gave me fluids, placed me near a dehumidifier, and started me on antibiotics right away. Within just a few days, I began to breathe easier—and once I could finally breathe, my appetite returned.
Thanks to this care, I graduated from the medical room and moved into Kerry’s office, where I stay warm and cozy in my very own tiny “apartment crate” while I recover.
But then my health took a turn again. Further testing revealed that I have FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis)—a severe immune-mediated viral disease caused by a mutation of the common feline coronavirus (FCoV) within a cat’s body. The good news? Today there is an approved, effective treatment available. With medication and monitoring over the next 83 days, I have a real chance at a healthy, happy future. For that, I truly need a loving foster home where I can rest, heal, and be cared for during treatment.
If you’d like a gentle, grateful companion to share the holidays with, please come meet me at the shelter. My biggest Christmas wish is to finally go home for the holidays. ??
