Amelia is making great progress in her foster home. She is now walking well on leash. Amelia enjoys being with her foster brother, a male boxer, and she has also made quick friends with a neighborhood puppy that she often played with. Amelia loves toys – stuffed toys, squeaky toys, and hard chew toys are all favorites! She takes treats gently and always finishes her meals. Amelia sleeps in her crate and goes in on her own at bedtime when treats are involved. She loves to snuggle with her foster dad during movie time. Amelia has the cutest little bark and one of her favorite activities is laying in the sun in her fenced backyard. She is also a fan of hanging out on the window seat in the front of the house so she can watch dogs and people go by. This adorable girl is going to be a wonderful addition to a lucky family.

Amelia arrived as a stray to an overcrowded shelter in West Virginia. This beautiful boxer mix girl is estimated to be around 2 years of age. She was very timid at the shelter, but also very sweet with everyone she met. The shelter reported that she did well with other dogs. Because an AABR volunteer offered to foster this girl, we were able to pull her from the shelter and open up a kennel there for another dog. Amelia arrived at her foster home in Virgina at the end of August. She is being fostered with a male boxer and she really enjoys being around him. We feel a male dog in her new home will help to build her confidence. Amelia is housebroken and is getting more comfortable in the house with each day, although she is still frightened by sudden, loud noises and sudden movements. Amelia has made so much progress just in two weeks and is turning into quite the cuddler!
