Here's what the humans have to say about me:
🐾 Meet Kenai (Keen-eye) 🐾
Kenai is a 2.5-year-old, 75-lb Shepherd/Heeler mix with a big heart, a sharp mind, and a deep sense of loyalty to the people he loves. He is an active, playful boy who enjoys adventure just as much as quiet time with his person — once he knows you’re his.
Kenai was recently returned to the shelter after showing protective behaviour in his previous home. When someone moved quickly to hug his owner, Kenai reacted defensively. Thankfully, no one was injured, but this moment made it clear that Kenai needs a home that understands canine body language, boundaries, and leadership.
Because of this, Kenai would do best in:
✔️ An adult-only home or home with older children.
✔️ A family with dog experience
✔️ A calm, structured environment
✔️ Guardians who are confident, consistent, and willing to continue his training
Kenai is not a “bad dog” — he is a dog who feels deeply and bonds strongly. With the right guidance and environment, he has the potential to be an incredibly devoted companion.
✨ If you’re looking for a loyal partner who will be by your side through every walk, every road trip, and every quiet evening at home, Kenai may be the one for you.
Adoption fee: $300
✔️ Neutered
✔️ Microchipped
✔️ Started on his vaccination schedule
