My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

He may be named Junior, but he’s anything but small. This 7-year-old domestic shorthair is a true gentle giant with an even bigger heart. Junior came to us after his owner sadly passed away. Although his family loved him dearly, allergies meant they couldn’t keep him, and now he’s looking for a cozy place to call home once again.

Junior is a laid-back couch potato who absolutely adores people. Calm and quiet by nature, he loves being petted and soaking up attention, and he’s happiest simply relaxing beside his human companions. He does well with children, has lived peacefully with other cats, and can tolerate dogs who respect his boundaries. Of course, Junior is also litter box trained.

If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate companion who will fill your home with calm and love, come meet Junior and let him show you just how special he is.

More about this shelter

We are a non-profit organization out of Monticello, IA specializing in the care for dogs and cats that need us. Our care does not stay local, as we take transports from all over the United States, and adopt all over as well!

Our mission's primary focus is to help reduce the homeless pet population by finding homes for spayed/neutered pets, and helping educate WHY this process is so important, and the proper way to care for pets!
