HOW TO ADOPT: This cat is participating in our Shelter Cat Getaway foster program, which gives cats a vacation from the shelter and lets them enjoy home life while they wait to be adopted. To schedule a time to meet this cat, please contact Mary at mmccarroll@arl-iowa.org
---
- Doesn't seem to mind the calm, senior dog in her foster home, so she may do okay with a calm cat-savvy dog in her new home
- Is not a good fit for young, busy children and is looking for a more mature home
- A gentle, loving senior kitty who knows exactly what she wants: YOU! This affectionate girl lives for cozy lap time and will happily spend her days curled up close, purring up a storm while you work, read, or watch TV
- She's wonderfully social and chatty - she'll "talk" to you with the sweetest little meows and even reach out a soft paw to politely request more pets when she feels she's been shortchanged on cuddles (which is adorable every single time)
- Enjoys short, leisurely strolls around the house to see what's new, but she's low-energy and low-maintenance - no zooming or mischief here! She's perfectly content just being wherever you are, soaking up your company
- Loves hard treats (the crunchier the better!)
- Totally okay with being picked up and carried - she'll melt right into your arms
- Already an expert snuggler who will make you feel truly loved every day. At 15, she has perfected the art of being the easiest, most grateful companion imaginable. All she asks for is a calm, loving home where she can give and receive affection for her golden years. Senior cats form incredibly deep bonds, and have so much love left to give - if you've been thinking about opening your heart to a sweet older kitty, she promises to make every day warmer and brighter
- Could your lap be the one she's been waiting for?
This cat is part of our Silver Paw Pets program, a foster and adoption program for pets who arrive at the ARL after their owner either passed away or was moved to a care facility where they could not take their pet. If you're interested in adopting this pet, please visit the location it's at or reach out if there is contact info listed above. If you'd like to foster this pet or another Silver Paw Pet, please email Mary at mmccarroll@arl-iowa.org.
All adoptable cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and FVRCP as appropriate for their age)
